Berkley Riverfront Park started undergoing a significant face lift in recent years and needed a fresh name and brand to go along with the renewed park efforts. Port KC wanted to promote the entire riverfront area as a destination in Kansas City on par with other local favorites. We decided to drop the “park” from the name and rebrand the area as Berkley Riverfront, in an effort to draw in new investment, development, attractions and amenities. This renaming and rebranding effort helped put the riverfront as a whole back on the map and kicked off a significant series of investments, including the KC Current soccer stadium, apartments, retail, a beer garden and even an extension of the KC Streetcar.
